Hey, how’s it going?

I’m Zach Smith.

I’m a cartoonist that makes books and TV shows. I live in Southern California, but grew up near Detroit, Michigan and South Bend, Indiana. I have two kids, two cats, and a dog that eats lizards (see logo).

I’m the creator and co-executive producer of the upcoming Nick Jr. show “Hamsters of Hamsterdale”. I’ve worked as a director, storyboard artist, visual development artist and character designer for the animation world since 2009. Here’s some projects I’ve worked on: Brickleberry,  Animaniacs, We Lost Our Human, and Pig Goat Banana Cricket- and one time, I even did freelance on the David S. Pumpkins Halloween Special.

I wrote and Illustrated the Dolphin Girl series of  graphic novels (Pixel + Ink), and Illustrated the children’s book Super Pizza & Kid Kale (Viking Books), written by Pheae Crede. In 2013, I created the short “Woodstump!” for Nickelodeon’s intergalactic shorts program, which was selected out of 1000’s of entries for production.
